This position will provide protocol and research compliance support, organize and manage research efforts, and proactively identify potential issues, identify solutions and make recommendations specific to financial aspects of both programs. This position will supervise current and future lab members.The position will hire, supervise, assign and delegate work, train, direct the work of and evaluate any laboratory staff required to support facility operations or research for the Regenerative Medicine and Sciences Program. Responsibilities 30% Improve practices and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of the Regenerative Medicine and Sciences Program; Develop improved methods to effectively achieve end results by, for example, scheduling work steps, arranging/re-arranging the way work is generally performed, and adding or deleting elements of processes as necessary. Develop and expand on data collection instruments and procedures 5% Comply with University policies and procedures to develop, manage, and maintain accurate databases, electronic records, and data warehouses specific to the Regenerative Medicine Program. 5% Prepare, submit, and administer scientific grant proposals, grants, sponsored contracts, manuscripts, articles, abstracts, and research reports. Develop and manage PI's program budget, report on annual progress, and monitor financial accounts. 5% Prepare IRB and IACUC submissions and ensure that procedures are consistent with IRB and IACUC approvals. 5% Serve as a liaison with internal and external contacts with regard to research, purchasing, and other Institutions as needed. 50% Leducq Network of Excellence Serves as the Network Administrative Officer (NAO) of the Leducq International Network of Excellence Grant. The NAO is the liaison between the Director (Dr. Daniel Garry), the Foundation, and the other project leaders/sites. Communication is an essential aspect of the successful Network alliances which will be a key responsibility to ensure the network runs seamlessly. Oversees and facilitates the planning of meetings and organizing of communication exchange among network members. In partnership with pre-award staff, the NAO is accountable for collating annual technical progress reports, quarterly finance budgets, and various reports from all project leaders and providing said documents to the Leducq Foundation. The NAO will facilitate the startup grant award for the fellows between the project PIs as well as assist in distribution of funds for annual scientific meetings and training opportunities. Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA/BS with 6 years of research experience or advanced degree with 4 years of research experience Preferred Qualifications: Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and problem solve Supervisory experience This position will require multiple days per week onsite for onboarding and training purposes, as well as for day-to-day operational management.
