Job Description

We're looking for a Principal Physical Design Engineer to join our team! In this position, you will be responsible for the physical development of ASICs used in our various memory products. You will collaborate with various design teams locally and across the globe in the physical implementation of these products. We have a very flexible design flow which allows for continuous improvement as technologies change and new ideas present themselves. In general, your duties would entail:

Implementing and managing the physical design process including,

  • Physical Synthesis constraints,

  • Chip/block level floor-planning,

  • IP integration,

  • Clock tree design,

  • Place-and-route,

  • Constraint reviews,

  • Static timing analysis and signoff,

  • Physical verification,

  • Functional and timing ECOs.

What you will be doing Daily

  • Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for physical ASIC flow development.

  • Conducts experimental testcases, evaluate results.

  • Cross-group communication to work towards standardization and group success.

  • Proactively solicit guidance from Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification groups to improve the design quality.

  • May also review vendor capability to support development.

How To Qualify

  • BS/MS in Engineering

  • 10+ years’ experience as a Place & Route Engineer

  • Experience with Cadence Tools (Genus/Innovus/Tempus) and Mentor (Calibre).

  • Chip Lead experience.
