Responsibilities This position will provide a combination of basic and/or routine payroll processing and administrative support tasks under the direct supervision of the finance department staff. Processes organization's payroll and compiles payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.

  • Maintain payroll information in the payroll system.Process bi-weekly payrolls
    • Update employee records when needed.
    • Pay bonuses or severance when needed.
    • Calculate employee contribution to federal and state income and related taxes.
  • Resolve discrepancies through collection and analysis of information within payroll system.
  • Reconciles payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
  • Prepare reports for firm of employee earnings, taxes, deductions, and employers' contribution of social security and unemployment; including other requested ad-hoc reports.
  • Maintain confidence of employee by keeping all information confidential.
  • Assist with department projects.

Provide customer service support to firm employees.

  • Accurately convey detailed information both written and verbally.
  • Display a high level of professionalism when communicating.

Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise.

  • Comply with continuing education requirements; participate in professional organizations, independent study, etc.
  • Integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal practices and laws.

Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent with 5 or more years of prior accounting support experience required. Associate degree and 3 years of accounting experience may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication and solid Microsoft Suite skills (Excel) required.
  • Ability to learn and utilize specialized software, per office/team requirements, such as, UltiPro, Navision, Star, etc.
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties.
  • Keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as ability to follow directions / procedures required, as well as work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with frequent interruptions.

Additional Information For California, Colorado, New York, Washington and remote roles: The compensation range for this role is $25.75 to $49.50 hourly. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. #LI-MN1 #remote
