DaVita Inc Patient Care Technician PD in Minneapolis, Minnesota

825 S. 8th St.Suite 1202,Minneapolis,Minnesota,55404,United States of America DaVita is looking for a Patient Care Technician to help educate and serve our Peritoneal Dialysis patients in the greater St. Paul, MN area! This teammate will assists the home dialysis nurse in the provision of dialysis treatment for our patients. What you can expect: Schedule: typically Monday-Friday 7am-4pm but can vary based on patient needs Float to all local home dialysis units as needed including: Minneapolis, St. Paul, Apple Valley, Glencoe, Blaine, Hudson, WI, etc, Requirements: High School diploma, general education development ("GED") credential, Dialysis Technician Certification or equivalent required Dialysis Technician Certification by a CMS approved state certification program or a national commercially available certification program required within 18 months of hire or position change Current CPR certification required (or must be obtained within 60 days of employment) Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook; proficiency in all DaVita clinical applications Essential duties: Receives patient into treatment/exam area; weighs patient, takes temperature and blood pressure pre[1]and post-dialysis; documents on all dialysis flow sheets Performs and records vital signs and all other parameters of ESRD patients as per DaVita policy and/or state regulations; obtains blood samples if phlebotomy certified and culture specimens and prepares for shipment Collects patient data Documents patient observations and seeks guidance when levels are out of normal range for ESRD patients Assist registered nurse Document observation of patients Setup PD cyclers Performs clerical duties as needed which may include: filing, lab requisitions, scheduling appointments, answering phones, ordering supplies, billing, copying, faxing, data entry, maintaining patient charts Dismantles, cleans, and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment What We'll Provide: More than just pay, our DaVita Rewards package connects teammates to what matters most including: Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out Support for you and your family: family resources, EAP counseling sessions, access Headspace, backup child and elder care, maternity/paternity leave and more Preceptor University: Learn how to become teach future DaVita teammates clinical procedures and policies Opportunity to grow personally and professionally.
