Description

The National Account Director, Trade, Wholesale, & Specialty Distribution leads, develops and executes business to business (B2B) fee for service agreements, supply chain and distribution access strategies within a diverse customer channel mix including full-line wholesale, LTC GPO´s, drug chains, food/drug, mass merchant, specialty pharmacy, Micro HUB´s and specialty distribution. The NAD will professionally sell, negotiate, and contract BI´s product portfolio or programs to ensure the right product for the right patient at the right time. This is a field based position. Accounts are located within Pennsylvania and Minnesota.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establishes high-level relationships with decision makers within their assigned accounts.

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate concepts and implementation initiatives/projects cross functionally.

  • Acts as consistent source of external business information gleaned from a combination of customer interactions, industry networking and mining media resources.

  • As the BI customer expert, influences and builds enduring relationships with key customers, including C-Suite Executives.

  • Positively impacts the overall quality level of service experienced by the National Account as a BIPI customer.

  • Obtains, maintains, or creates an advantage for BI product through effective account management and holding the customer accountable for KPI performance.

  • Key responsibility for NAD´s with Full Line wholesale will include the negotiation of the Distribution Service Agreement (DSA), KPI measurement, daily management of the BI supply chain.

  • This person will oversee access to the limited distribution models that support the Boehringer products.

  • Manage the pricing actions and processes to best represent the Boehringer product portfolio mix.

  • Understand the legislative and policies that impact the healthcare industry along, the wholesaler and Boehringer.

NAD Requirements

  • Bachelor´s degree required; MBA preferred.

  • Five-plus (5+) years of experience in US pharmaceutical industry, including three (3) years of successful National/Regional Account Director experience.

  • Direct account experience within Wholesale and/or Specialty Distribution preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budget, resources, and territory.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Confidence and Executive Presence.

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and database applications.

  • Ability to travel (may include extensive overnight travel).

  • Valid Driver´s License and acceptable driving record.

  • Authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle.

Sr. NAD Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience required; MBA preferred.

• Seven plus (7+) years of successful National/Regional Account Director experience.

• Direct account experience within Specialty Pharmacy and/or Specialty Distribution required.

• Demonstrated ability to manage budget, resources, and territory.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization.

• Confidence and Executive Presence.

• Long-term vision.

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and database applications.

• Ability to travel (may include overnight).

• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
