The physician will participate in the clinical, research, and teaching activities of the Division of Infectious Diseases. Clinical responsibilities will include providing coverage of inpatient consultation services and outpatient clinical practice. Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research expertise and to teach fellows, residents, and medical students. The Medical Director collaborates with and supports the University of Minnesota Medical Center Hospital Epidemiologist and Executive Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control to maintain the hospital's infection control plan including but not limited to executing institutional initiatives, providing expert guidance on development of infection control policies, leading epidemiologic and infectious diseases outbreak investigations, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. Qualifications Qualifications: MD or equivalent degree Completed accredited fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases Board certified/board eligible in pediatric infectious diseases Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure About the Department The Pediatric Infectious Diseases team at the University of Minnesota M Health Fairview provides expert clinical care for immunocompetent and immunocompromised children with a broad range of infectious diseases.
