The Master of Nursing program is an accelerated initial licensure program designed for individuals who already hold baccalaureate degrees in non-nursing field who want to become a registered nurse. The Master of Nursing Program Coordinator will fully support all Master of Nursing students from inquiry to graduation. This position is expected to apply an equity and student success lens to meet collegiate and university goals in the areas of retention and timely student progress and student support. The position is housed in the Office of Student and Career Advancement Services in the School of Nursing (OSCAS) and reports directly to the Assistant Director of Graduate Programs. This position will have the ability to work from home approximately 2-3 days each week. Responsibilities: 40% Direct Student Success Support Counsel students to guide them through Program, College, and University Policies and Procedures, including providing direction on approved curriculum and program and/or college specific requirements to meet degree requirements. Monitor students' degree progress and ensure timely completion of their degree plan and graduation procedures, including processing degree clearances. Counsel students on individual issues that may arise and direct them to the best resources for resolving those issues. Place or remove holds on student accounts and authorize registration, curricular, and some policy exceptions (e.g., extension of leave of absence). Guide international students through their unique processes and work with ISSS to assure proper paperwork and compliance throughout the program. Create and communicate welcome materials for new students (e.g., new student checklist, orientation information, course registration). 40% Admissions and Recruitment Oversee overall program admission process. Guide prospective students, applicants, and admitted students through the admission process and coordinate faculty involved in final admission decisions and post-admission recruiting. In collaboration with the Assistant Director and Director, design and implement program admissions and recruitment strategy, from prospective student through orientation. Create a welcoming and positive recruitment experience for prospective students and applicants. Plan and implement orientation programming for new students. Serve as a resource for the Coordinator of School of Nursing Campus System Partnerships for admissions related questions for the MN program. 10% Data and Program Management Act as program subject matter expert in systems such as Slate, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, MyU, Reporting Center, GPAS, PCAS, and U of M Reports. Serve as a resource for the program to help support students and faculty in understanding how best to use systems and locate information. Identify program needs (based on observation, data, and interactions with faculty, students, and other staff) and create optional plans for addressing (e.g., recruitment/retention, funding resources, research opportunities). Ensure catalog reflects accurate requirements to facilitate timely degree progress and programming of key systems (i.e., GPAS, PCAS). Support the management of student finances and fees by collaborating with the Scholarship Committee and Business Office on waivers, exemptions, and credit thresholds. 10% Special Initiatives and Professional Development Seek out and fully participate in professional development opportunities. Collaborate on the planning and execution of select student services initiatives and progra s, such as new student orientations, Career Week, and other special events. Serve on School of Nursing and University-wide committees as requested. Assist the School of Nursing with various events, including but not limited to fall and spring commencement ceremonies and orientation for other degree programs. Staff advisor for the Graduate Nurses' Student Council. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree plus two years of related experience or the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience totaling six years. Strong experience with or quick ability to learn database and enterprise systems used for student records, advising, and reports. Ability to display accountability and responsibility in determining priorities and implementing processes that will match the mission and values of the Office of Student and Career Advancement Services. Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively with a team, and with supervision. Ability to work some evenings and very occasional weekends. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus. Experience working with the following systems: PeopleSoft, Slate, CAS systems. Experience developing, organizing and coordinating orientation programs and other student events: information sessions, commencement ceremonies, etc. Experience interpreting complex policies and communicating these to various constituents. Training or experience with career development programming.
