Mortenson's rapidly expanding Energy Storage & Solutions team is looking for energized and experienced preconstruction talent. ...What are you waiting for? Summary: Responsible for providing overall ownership for a key market or markets within an Operating Group to include business development, successful customer relations, strategic and operational direction. Responsibilities: Create and execute strategy enabling the growth of a successful business within key market or markets Understand market priorities, insights, influences, and potential disruptors Strategically analyze market trends and develop plan for understanding customers and winning work Connect market needs and goals to Mortenson's portfolio of offerings to identify areas of value for potential customers Responsible for forward-looking, strategic business development within specific market connected to broader company and group strategies. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential partners including, but not limited to targeted customers, design professionals, partner companies, community leaders, utilities, equipment manufacturers, and engineering firms Leverage Mortenson's full portfolio of customer solutions, which may include development, planning, building effectiveness analysis and DAS among many others Establish and maintain successful customer/community relationships within specific market Provide high-level insight and value to customers through understanding their needs based on market analysis and insight Conduct key customer visits throughout projects within market, from pre-construction client surveys to close-out, ensuring project commitments are met, and issues are resolved Act as primary customer contact for projects within market Maintain customer relationships to be aware of current and future projects Develop talent for current and long-term strategic objectives to support market growth Mentor and manage team members, establishing and fostering team environment Develop team members for future career consideration and training opportunities Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance Other duties as assigned Use the appropriate level of forethought and planning in decision making to assure project success Qualifications: Minimum 15 years prior experience in construction, consulting, engineering, or related field Current driver's license Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategies to create business within a market Knowledge of Mortenson's array of offerings and capabilities, e.g. development, planning, etc. Shown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple projects Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies Active li tening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans and their intended use Ability to travel up to 50% Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience Mortenson is an EOE/Affirmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
