The position will include: -Sample cataloging and organization (5%) -Lab work processing samples; develop and troubleshoot new lab protocols, applying reported findings in literature (50%) -Microscope and image analysis time to count microplastics (40%) -Data curation and quality control (5%). Note: Some interfacing with field work technicians will occur throughout the project. Qualifications Required Qualifications: -BS/BA and 2 years of related experience or a combination of education and work experience to equal six (6 years). Preferred Qualifications: Attention to detail and organizational skills. Comfort with labwork, including filtration and digestion of samples, microscopy, and attention to contamination. Ability to troubleshoot and revise lab methods as needed with new sample types. Comfort working with soil, plant and insect samples. Enthusiasm to learn new things, and tolerance of lab tedium.
