Coloplast Corp. Intern - R&D Technology Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Intern - R&D Technology Engineer Location: Minneapolis, MN, US Job Family: Research & Development Country/Region: United States The R&D Engineer Intern will perform original design and testing over a broad range of technologies to provide new or improved products to the medical device market in the arena of Interventional Urology. This person will act as technical support for interdepartmental development teams to fulfill business goals of Coloplast for new and existing research and development projects. Exact dates depend on school calendars. Major Areas of Accountability: Specify, design, verify and validate devices in accordance with applicable medical regulatory standards Perform original design, under guidance of project engineers/scientists, developing design specifications, conduct DOEs, verification protocols/reports and other associated documentation following design control requirements Participate in hands-on problem solving and resolution Create and maintain good records of lab work and test results related to assigned projects Coloplast employees are required to conduct business to the highest ethical and professional standards; comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Advamed Code of Ethics on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals, and company policies. Basic Qualifications: Pursuing a 4-year or graduate degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent Undergraduate student (completed sophomore level or higher) or Graduate student with successful completion of basic engineering course work. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or related CAD software) experience is preferred Able to develop test protocols and synthesize data to write test reports based on observed data, relevant test standards and general engineering knowledge Familiarity with statistical analysis (e.g. two-sample t-test, tolerance limit calculation) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of basic engineering concepts and principles Ability to work independently and to be a technical assist on group projects Ability to take verbal instructions and translate them into goals and objectives Good written and verbal communication Pro-active; high-performance and results orientation Pursuing an ambitious growth agenda, Coloplast develops and markets products and services that make life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs.
