The Assistant Director (AD), in concert with the Director, is responsible for designing, creating, and implementing a comprehensive, dynamic strategic plan to achieve the goals of the Institute, including the development of new diagnostics and therapeutics, education for patients, training the next generation of clinicians and scientists working on prostate and urologic malignancies, and fundraising and awareness campaigns to support these activities. The AD will utilize various resources within the Department of Urology, the U of MN Medical School, and the University of Minnesota to ensure consistent and effective operations in these endeavors. The Assistant Director will work closely with the IPUC Director (currently the Urology Department Chair), M Health Fairview service line representatives, and representatives from other healthcare systems as needed to execute the IPUC's goals. All IPUC activities will be carried out in a manner consistent with inclusiveness, valuing diversity, and health equity. Job Duties OPERATIONS (60%) Develops processes and implements community engagement activities. Identify priorities for program areas with the leadership and center faculty. Responsible for implementing all aspects of the centers, including special events, logistical support- room reservations, food, scheduling, and coordination. Nurture donor relationships. Build and maintain relationships with donors in partnership with UMF and meet monthly with our UMF partner. Attending meetings and assisting with communications to ensure all stakeholders are connected. Seek additional support and philanthropic involvement by working with our faculty and UMF partner. Liaison for support groups. Act as a primary contact between the Institute and vetted support groups, facilitating communications and collaboration. Event and fundraising management. Oversee the planning and execution of events in concert with the UM Foundation. Approve fundraising operations. Assure all activities align with the program goals. Organize the bi-annual Gleason Conference on genitourinary malignancies. Administrative tasks. Create and update program event budgets for review with IPUC leadership. File mileage, reimbursement, and purchasing card forms in a timely manner. Organize group lunches, including ordering, delivery facilitation, attendee coordination, post-event recap, and reconciliation. FINANCE (20%) Maximizing Funding Opportunities: Responsible for developing, communicating, monitoring, and executing funding proposals. Adeptly manage the financial aspects of awarded grants, guaranteeing full accountability and transparency. Meticulous oversight of gift monies ensures that every dollar is utilized purposefully, within budget, and with robust donor reporting. Helping develop the annual budget based on insightful financial data, culminating in comprehensive financial reporting comprising current reports and executive summaries. * COMMUNICATIONS (20%)- partnering with the Department of Urology's communication manage Promote IPUC visibility and reputation through various channels. Oversee the creation and distribution of written communications, which may include newsletters, patient education materials, and expert articles from our thought leaders. Manage internal and external marketing and communication across email, print, digital, and social media platforms. Community liaison fosters relationships with local community members and organizations and acts as the program's representative in community matters. Qua ifications All required qualifications must be listed on resume. Required qualifications BA/BS plus at least four years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least eight years Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on detail and accuracy Previous experience working in a matrixed organization or with multiple groups.
