Position Purpose

The finance manager role is a strategic business partner to multiple Sleep Number leaders that provides decision support through financial leadership, quantitative modeling, analytical insights, and thought partnership. This position will support enhancing the product and portfolio profitability and to maximize top and bottom line Company performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Be a strong partner to product and supply chain leaders ; prepare and present financial expectations and results to functional teams; teach and help navigate the business using key financial and operational metrics

  • Indirect supervision of forecasting and budgeting processes

  • Provide financial statement analysis, insight, and business performance reporting including revenue and expense analysis

  • Offer decision support and insight to allow business leaders to design and implement profitable business strategy decisions

  • Key project work will include business case development, metric analysis, and senior management support

  • Reporting work will include monthly business review documents, weekly and monthly KPI reporting

Key Performance Indicators

  • Top line and profit growth

  • Gross margin results vs expectations

  • Strong relationships with key stakeholders in Product, Supply Chain, Finance and across the company

  • Forecast accuracy

Position Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive financial analysis experience preferably in a decision support capacity

  • BA/BS Degree in business/finance/accounting/economics/related field; MBA preferred

  • Experience supporting buying/planning/merchandising organizations preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Analytical skills, strong partnering & education skills to support work with non-financial management teams

  • Advanced financial modeling and analysis skills; forecast model building & experience a plus

  • Experience developing, following and continually improving monthly / quarterly processes / tools

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of profit growth drivers

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to present complex information in a usable format to a diverse audience

  • Ability to navigate a fact paced environment and embrace ambiguity

  • Advanced Excel skills; Intermediate PowerPoint, & Word skills;

  • Knowledge of Oracle accounting systems and BI tools (OBIEE, Essbase, PowerBI)

  • Self-driven, persuasive, independent and analytical thinker
