Job ID359851 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch-Support Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9742S1 Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job Summary of Position: The Digital Health Project Manager (DHPM) will support the Center for Learning Health System Sciences (CLHSS) primarily in the creation and implementation of new digital health products and the iteration and improvement of existing digital health products with a keen focus on the end-user and regulatory requirements. Product types vary and may include consumer facing apps, EHR integrated apps, clinical decision making tools, data access platforms for researchers, and more. Requests for DHPM support can come from external service requests, or the request can be a part of a grant CLHSS has received. Depending on the source, the DHPM may oversee the entire lifecycle of the assigned product or only a portion of the life cycle (i.e. capability augmentation). Each assigned product will have a unique set of requirements (e.g. human subjects research practices, FDA compliance, health system requirements, etc.) that need to be understood and steadfastly followed by the DHPM. Some of the assigned products will require the DHPM to manage each aspect of the product life cycle as a research project with the intent to publish peer reviewed work either about the process of the product development or an evaluation of the product. The DHPM will be responsible for the management of several, diverse technical research projects spanning clinical AI model implementation to digital health solution development and implementation, technology hardening, and/or evaluation. The DHPM will interface and coordinate work with IT, clinical, and academic interest holders and support teams. The DHPM will report to the Data Programs Manager and work closely with the P4AI and DTI leadership teams and staff from project intake and gathering requirements to create technical specifications, establish work plans, assess risk and build contingency plans, resolve issues, and then implement and evaluate. This position receives minimal guidance and requires the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have strong technical, organization, project management, and communication (written and oral) skills to guide two multi-disciplinary teams and ensure deliverables are timely and meet requirements. This position also requires a high tolerance for ambiguity to research and develop solutions to undefined research topics. Effort will be split approximately evenly across project manager duties for the Program for Clinical AI (P4AI) and the Digital Technology Innovation (DTI) Program. Duties/Responsibilities: 70%: Technical Project Management Leads project intake from service requests by helping to refine scope, facilitate requirements gathering, estimate resources needed, and set initial milestones. Manages the development of digital health products (e.g. patient facing apps, EHR integrated clinical decision support). Each project will be scoped to help move the product through a portion of the product life cycle (i.e. ideation, product validation, prototyping, marketing/workflow integration plan, building, product launch, evaluation and improvement). Develop and implement project plans including design and scope, planning, requirements gathering, development, implementation, evaluation and closure/dissemination Oversee the breakdown of complex multifaceted research proposals into discrete interconnected pieces of work with clear outcomes defined and dependencies identified. E.g. Lead and facilitate structuring downstream integration of data flows, APIs, and other technologies within a matrixed IT environment. Oversee the management of graduate research assistants, coordinate staff resources and faculty expertise, monitor progress, and coordinat collaborative projects with other programs within the center Control interest holder expectations and resource requirements to ensure ownership, alignment of shared resources, and success Own partnership with the M Health Fairview Learning Health System Program Manager and other staff for required resources and implementation of research projects Lead regular meetings with research teams to establish priorities, check progress, identify and resolve issues including distribution of updates and ensuring next steps are complete Create explanatory artifacts (e.g. project charter, work breakdown structure/roadmap, communication plan, slide deck, flow charts, timeline/dependencies, risk register, etc.) that help get and keep each team in sync. Arrange writing of study results, preparing reports, and disseminating findings Delegate quality control checks of data and proper storage in accordance with IRB and audit requirements 30%: Programmatic support for Program for Clinical AI (P4AI) & Digital Technology Innovation (DTI) Program Manages support for internal program projects (e.g. metrics tracking, annual report, development of educational materials, RA interviewing and hiring) Assist in running of weekly co-director's meetings and bi-weekly full team meetings. Consult with the CLHSS regulatory specialist to ensure that regulatory compliant standard operating procedures are followed throughout the P4AI and DTI portfolios Direct pre- and post- award staff on grant preparation, submission, and management to various federal, state, and local funding sources. Serve as a key member of the CLHSS operations team to enhance the development and growth of CLHSS and its strategic goals Formulate CLHSS research project manager best practices, resources, and templates to assist in cross-training and onboarding project managers in CLHSS Work Arrangements: This position follows UMN Work. With Flexibility. guidelines. Currently, the position will be primarily working from home. There may be occasional needs to be on campus and over time there may be a need to set a regular schedule for a few days on campus each week. Work hours should follow a regular schedule between 7-5, M-F. Salary range: $80,000-90,000 Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA/BS and at least 6 years of experience or advanced degree and 4 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal nine years.
