As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework (https://portal.teamworks.wellsfargo.net/rc/CorporateRisk/Pages/riskmgmtfrmwk.aspx) and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

The Consumer Credit team is responsible for leading, developing and implementing strategic initiatives and processes to drive the company credit culture, appetite, and business performance. The individual will act as a technical expert and collaborate with Technology, FCRA Compliance, Legal, and Deposit and Credit Bureau Management Office teams to analyze, develop, and recommend to leadership teams credit bureau permissible purpose rules for Home Lending products; partner with Experian and Technology teams to support Home Lending Credit Bureau Account Review process though data analysis, validation, and interpretation; The individual will also support implementation and production of Home Equity Account Management risk strategies and model and deliver data-driven insights to enhance existing business processes and controls.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years analytics experience demonstrated through work or military experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, operations research, mathematics, or engineering

  • 2+ years of SAS programming experience

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of SQL experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Risk reporting and data validation experience

  • Outstanding problem solving skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems

  • Adept at translating technical output into business language or recommendation
