MIDCO Corporate Development Senior Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

JOB PURPOSE:

Financial analytics and integration. This role provides a unique opportunity to see M&A deals from start to finish. As the Senior Manager of Corporate Development, you will lead the financial modeling for Midco’s M&A opportunities and external investments. You will also be a key member of the integration team.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Think Strategically & Analytically

  • Build financial models to assess M&A opportunities and external investments.

  • Quantify after-tax financial returns and discounted cash flows.

  • Develop scenarios and sensitivities to underscore key risks and opportunities.

Act with Integrity

  • Adhere to Midco’s confidentiality guidelines.

  • Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco’s Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.

Execute

  • Organize and manage the data room during diligence processes.

  • Define what success looks like for each opportunity.

  • Set financial targets and key performance indicators.

Collaborate Across Boundaries

  • Partner with Enterprise Project Management Organization (EPMO) to support integration.

  • Present financial analyses to key leadership, including the Board of Directors and Midco’s Executive Leadership Team.

  • Build relationships with prospective M&A targets and refine Midco’s M&A priority list.

Showcase Business Acumen

  • Refine key model assumptions through external and internet research.

  • Offer expertise on competitive/industry trends, especially among peer companies and large-scale investors like private equity firms and investment banks.

Demonstrate Courage

  • Surface risks early and demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Ask tough questions to push our collective thinking.

  • Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience required.

  • Master's degree or other post-secondary degree preferred.

  • Previous roles in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Finance or Corporate Strategy preferred.

  • Experience with discounted cash flow modeling required.

  • Strong analytical skills in Excel.

  • Ability to work independently and be proactive to identify and solve problems.

  • Strong communications skills - you will be in front of executives regularly.

  • Experience in financial analysis, developing business strategies, and leading cross-functional teams to execute those strategies preferred.

  • Knowledge of broadband products and services preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

  • Employee may be required to travel if necessary.

  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
