Primary duties include prospecting quality borrowers, leveraging personal existing church and church leader relationships, previewing loan opportunities that meet underwriting criteria, and managing ongoing relationships in a designated region of country based on target marketing efforts. **We are open to candidates working remotely anywhere across the United States.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prospect for healthy, growing churches in healthy growing MSA’s.

  • Drive quality loan origination to underwriting team, possessing an ability to evaluate credit worthiness.

  • Negotiate deal terms that align with portfolio/investment objectives.

  • Assist with target marketing efforts understanding alignment with various denominations, and have ability to network across denominational and non-denominational churches.

  • Follow up on leads generated by internal and external contacts (i.e. consultants, brokers, etc.).

  • Develop a regional presence that allows for face-to-face interaction and ability to compete with other top tier church lenders.

  • Contribute to overall quality of portfolio by ensuring proper borrower vetting and ongoing follow up.

  • Cultivate business relationships with potential partners (church lenders, banks, FRs, district ministry representatives, denomination leaders, etc.).

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-year college degree in business, finance, or real estate with MBA or MA in finance or real estate preferred.

  • Church lending industry experience of 5+ years with established network of church and/or church leader relationships.

  • Experience working with business development, understanding markets and marketing strategies that identify and attract borrowers.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Knowledge of church business practices and broad understanding of typical denomination governance structures.

Other Critical Factors

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to “sell” and work effectively in pressured, time-sensitive situations.

  • In depth knowledge of key church loan qualitative and qualitative underwriting practices.

  • Demonstrated experience representing enterprise brand and capabilities to assist with cross selling and new member attraction.
