Description Job Purpose: The Business Office Support Specialist is an administrative support position responsible for facilitating the sorting, scanning of incoming mail, sending out insurance claims, processing insurance. As well as other tasks to assist the Business Office A/R workflow. This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week at our corporate office in Northeast Minneapolis. Position starts at $20/hour Essential Functions:In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and regular attendance is required. The Business Office Support Specialist performs a variety of tasks in support of the Business Office AR/Patient Account department. These tasks include but are not limited to: Sort incoming mail for Accounts Receivable Scan insurance mail into appropriate folders for staff to work Printing and mailing internal collection letters and miscellaneous claim denial letters Mailing out insurance claims Batch Posting Create, post, and reconcile internal check payments Create, process, post and reconcile credit card payments Create, import, post and reconcile insurance ERA payments Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs Qualification Requirements:The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the essential functions of this position. Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. 1-3 years' experience in customer service or an office setting is preferred. Certifications/Licenses:None required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of: Medical terminology Microsoft Office applications Skills: Compassionate patient care Problem solve, prioritize, and be detail oriented Critical thinking Ability to: Multitask Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Work independently as well as in a team environment Physical Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of the physical demands required by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees may be required to travel to other company locations due to staffing and training needs.
