Fairview Health Services BMT Nurse Clinician - casual in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a driven Nurse Clinician to join the Bone Marrow Acquisition team based on the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN! This role will primarily be working with Pediatric patients. This is a casual position, meaning all hours are as needed - allowing for phenomenal flexibility!

Responsibilities Job Description

The clinician is an advocate for quality care and an inspirational and role model for the advancement of professional nursing practice across the continuum of care. Provides patient care for a specified population. Partners with colleagues to achieve excellence in the delivery of patient care to designated population groups. The clinician promotes nursing professionalism through education, role modeling and clinical expertise. The clinician leads the planning, development /implementation of industry practices and standard of care through development of programs, policies, guidelines focused on continual quality improvement. Competencies include coaching and facilitation skills, research, ethical decision-making, fostering collaboration, consultation, clinical expertise and decision-making, excellent communication skills, flexibility and adaptability, creating linkages and efficient and effective use of human, financial and other resources.

  • Provides greater than 50 percent direct patient care which may include treatments, counseling, promoting self-care, patient(s) education, or administration of medications.

  • Identifies and defines problems and opportunities in practice.

  • Analyzes practice initiatives accounting for safety, timeliness, effectiveness, efficiency, efficacy and patient and support network centeredness which ultimately improves health care outcomes.

  • Participates in designs and implements processes to evaluate outcomes or practice, practice patterns and systems of care within a practice setting and health care organization against national benchmarks to resolve variances in practice, outcomes and population trends.

  • Provides clinical decision support, advice and guidance to the clinical team by facilitating the transfer of research and standard process into clinical application.

  • Implements monitoring and evaluation plan for process or quality improvement endeavors in nursing practice provided by NPPL or APNL.

  • Collaborates with nursing staff and managers to coordinate human, environmental and material resources to ensure cost-effective care.

  • Employs consultative and leadership skills within and among professional teams to create change in healthcare, sophisticated healthcare delivery systems and/or organizational issues.

  • Uses sophisticated communication skills/processes that support open dialogue and shared meaning in leadership of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in health care systems.

  • Leads the development and implementation of integrated systems and processes to promote competency, excellence in professional and clinical practice and collaborative working relationships across the continuum of care.

  • Demonstrates expertise in group facilitation - define goals, roles and relationships; provides feedback and handles group to meet agreed upon goals.

  • Works with the NPPL and/or APNL to disseminate and implement new evidence based practice into clinical environment

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare field. If bachelors is not in nursing then a master’s degree in nursing is needed

  • 2 years or more of nursing experience

  • Current MN RN License

Preferred

  • Advanced Degree is nursing or related field

  • 3 or more years nursing experience

  • Certification in Specialty Area
