Target Associate Packaging Development Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The pay range is $54,800.00 - $98,600.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. Job Overview :

Target’s packaging team designs and develops all Target-owned brand packaging both in store and online. Under the overall direction of Packaging Leadership and in close partnership with our cross-functional product, creative, brand and sourcing counterparts you will manage and drive successful completion of packaging work through all phases of Owned Brand product creation, from project kick off through results analysis. You will also be responsible for understanding the overall business objectives and establishing the optimal packaging plan to deliver on the business and guest needs. As part of a global team spanning the U.S., China, and India, you will have partners overseas, as well as international vendors and suppliers. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working independently is accountable for successful completion of work

  • Responsible for establishing the optimal approach for the project and gathering requirements/input from all packaging areas.

  • Proactively drives and manages project plan, communicating all deadlines and ensuring cross-functional team compliance.

  • Ensures project aligns with core project calendar and delivers on business objectives, strategy, and project goals.

  • Monitor compliance of activities from Project Kick-off through Results Analysis

  • Follows defined communications best methods and procedures

  • Use problem solving & critical thinking skills to facilitate effective decision making and risk analysis within the cross-functional team

  • Promotes commitment to organizations, vision, values and direction

  • Supports team and department strategies, goals and objectives

  • Guest centered approach when developing solutions

  • Ensures quality and accuracy of work

  • Draw conclusions from relevant data and makes appropriate recommendations

  • Promotes sharing of expertise and continuous learning across the organization

Job Requirements:

  • College graduate (Bachelor’s degree) or related experience

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/partners at once

  • Strong organization and planning skills

  • Proven track record of consistent project development and execution

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Strong communications skills

  • Collaborative team player

  • Positive attitude

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including: Excel, Powerpoint, Word and OneNote

Desired Requirements:

  • Previous Project Management experience

  • Understanding of packaging development and Target Owned Brand process

  • Knowledge of Project Management systems & tools (i.e. Smartsheet)

  • Previous data and analytics experience/skillsets

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
