HealthPartners Advanced Practice Clinician Fellow in Primary Care in Minneapolis, Minnesota

We are offering a 12 month post-graduate program for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in Primary Care with a start date of January, 2025. The Primary Care APC Fellowship Program engages learners in extensive training in a variety of teaching environments and sub-specialties. Primary Care APC Fellows will spend a significant portion of their training at a primary care site, with rotations in those specialty areas deemed essential for proficiency in Primary Care at HealthPartners. Responsibilities include basic medical duties of performing histories and physicals, formulating an assessment and plan, and providing necessary treatments and procedures. All work is supervised by an attending physician. Building on ACGME Family Medicine Core Competencies and common patient care presentations, APC fellows will have the opportunity to continue development of critical thinking skills, inter-professional collaboration, clinical competence, and business practice. Through SIM, lecture, and journal club, didactic sessions will compliment diverse rotations and hands on experiences. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, occasional evenings, occasional weekends Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program (Applicants may be in final year of completing this requirement with hiring dependent upon successful completion) PA or NP students completing training are encouraged to pursue at least one rotation in specialty and a second rotation is encouraged. Licensure/Certification Required: Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota with certification by the NCCPA OR Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner by the state of Minnesota & certified by AANP or ANCC, in addition to being licensed as an RN by the State of Minnesota. Note: Candidates are welcome to apply prior to formal licensure and certification, but must be obtained at least 3 months prior to start date of program.
