Job ID360208 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyAdministration-General Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code8208A1 Employee ClassCivil Service About the Job About the Job The Center for Developmental NeuroImaging (CDNI) is seeking an administrative associate to assist with the day-to-day administrative workflow amongst the laboratories. This is an in-person position with limited opportunity for remote work. A successful applicant must be able to work well independently, work effectively with a team, and to communicate clearly in a collaborative environment with a diverse range of research tasks and disciplines. The CDNI is housed at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain at the University of Minnesota. Our work focuses on advancing the understanding of brain development in health and disease. We are an interdisciplinary team of researchers trying to: * Understand basic principles of brain functioning across development (i.e. figure out how the brain works) * Learn about how neuropsychiatric and other brain-based disorders develop and progress over time * Contribute to the prevention and treatment of brain-based disorders * Engage underrepresented communities in all aspects of academic medicine and research To learn more about CDNI and current research studies, please visit the website: https://innovation.umn.edu/developmental-cognition-and-neuroimaging-lab/ Please upload a cover letter and CV/resume. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Staffing Support (25%) * Work with PIs and managers to generate job descriptions for vacant positions * Schedule interviews for applicants * Laise between managers and UMN HR to onboard new employees to the university and MIDB procedures * Record time-off requests in the group's centralized tracking system * Coordinate staff engagement and team building activities * Track and communicate staff milestones such as career milestones, birthdays, etc. Group-wide communication efforts (25%) * Logistics and coordination of lab visits by faculty, collaborators, and trainees * Coordinate weekly lab meetings and science discussions * Maintain website * Keep document of current biosketches, track prior grants, put together centralized documents and boilerplate language Purchasing and payment coordination (15%) * Coordinate logistics and coordination for scientific conferences * Communicate purchasing standards for all staff * Complete purchasing and track inventory of lab materials such as technology, clinical assessments, study supplies, etc. * Order and track lab supplies Management Support (15%) * Assist and coordinate in monthly all-staff training sessions * Coordinate efforts for data use agreements (DUAs), assisting with standardized language as they are written * Facilitate SOPs and coordination for data processing/management/transfer requests Lab volunteer and student tracking (10%) * Coordinate centralized program for undergraduate research assistants (URA) including: Provide mechanisms for URAs to apply Help match URAs with PIs based on their interests and what the PI would like assistance with Coordinate efforts to allow URAs to connect with one another Host annual URA symposium in the spring for students to showcase their work * Triage requests from high school students and other prospective lab volunteers Maintain lab policies and procedures (10%) * Maintain common policies and procedures CDNI Vision and Goals statement Code of Conduct Pay equity and promotion design Curating documentation on Basecamp, Google Drive, Box Qualifications Required Qualifications: * BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years; applies knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on prec sion and timeliness of execution.
