LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ROTATION PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

  • Medtronic’s Leadership Development Rotation Program brings strong MBA talent from targeted sources into the organization; providing them with key experiences, setting the foundation for future success as a potential leader at Medtronic.

  • You will begin your journey with a first rotation that provides an enterprise lens to how our organization operates – roles include regional, functional and corporate opportunities such as Financial Planning and Analysis, Global Supply Chain, Investor Relations, and Portfolio -level Business Development. You will learn and add value on specific deliverables and participate in cohort-wide development on key strategies in our organization, such as Value Based Health Care and market modeling processes that are used across the organization. Exposure to our Executive Leaders and regular cohort connections round out this foundation setting experience.

  • Your second rotation will be aligned to a business – and provides a therapy and patient focused opportunity in key functional areas like product marketing, market development, business development and strategy. These roles prepare you to understand Medtronic from a specific and critical business lens. These roles are often global in nature – working across regions to provide access to products in a variety of regions.

  • During your time in the LDRP, you will have opportunities to explore your interests in a variety of areas – including what it takes to be a leader of people at Medtronic, Employee Resource Groups, and Mission Aligned Activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities may include the following (and other duties may be assigned):

  • Formulates and reviews short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for specific product or functional area

  • Models new effective and efficient operating processes that make it easier to do business

  • Drives detailed financial analyses and valuation models for proposed programs; constructs and presents analyses to seek alignment from senior management

  • Interfaces with customers to identify unmet needs, provide support, and develop product plans; conducts competitive analyses and market research

  • Determines the profitability and viability of new products or product enhancements

  • Collaborates with cross-matrix/cross-functional partners to facilitate strategic initiatives and key assignment deliverables

  • Collaborates with the field sales team to identify creative solutions for hospitals and physicians that will ensure effective and efficient delivery of services.

  • Develops marketing strategies and tactics to ensure effective product placement relative to market opportunity, working closely with product development for a specific product, brand, or product area over its entire life cycle.

LOCATIONS:

Direct hire candidates are required to relocate to Minneapolis, MN for 1st rotations. 2nd Rotation locations depend on business needs, and typically include but are not limited to Minnesota (Minneapolis), California (Northridge, Santa Rosa), Colorado (Boulder), Massachusetts (Boston), Connecticut (North/New Haven); Washington, DC and Florida (Miami).

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

We’re looking for bold thinkers to help us push the boundaries of medical technology. The position requires the following knowledge and experience:

  • Current enrollment in an MBA program with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2025

  • Ability to begin fulltime employment on July 21, 2025

  • Minimum of 4 years (48 months) fulltime work experience

  • United States work authorization is required . Individuals currently possessing temporary visas such as E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J or TN, or who may need sponsorship for US work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible. (The Medtronic LDRP does not offer employment sponsorship now or in the future)

The desired/preferred qualifications include:

A minimum of 4 years (48 months) progressively responsible professional work experience

  • Global mindset, as demonstrated by extensive travel, advanced language skills or involvement with international projects

  • The ability to manage complex projects and accomplish objectives

  • Success in leading teams (directly or indirectly) to support collaboration and deliver results

  • An interest in technology, medical devices, healthcare, or passion for bringing lifesaving technologies to people globally.

  • Highly collaborative with excellent communication, leadership, and strategic-thinking skills

  • Bright, flexible, and results-oriented, with a high degree of humility

  • Ability to navigate in a large, highly complex organization

  • Comfortable with ambiguity (can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably; can decide and act without having the total picture; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty)

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$101,600.00 - $152,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary, $130,000.00, for all incoming participants is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
