Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Materials Handler - Supply Chain - Mineola. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for receiving, inspection and delivery duties at the main Hospital and adjacent off-site facilities. Packs and prepares items for shipping. Prepares both inventory and non-stock orders for delivery to clinical and non-clinical areas/departments. Ensures deliveries are made to designated locations timely. Ensures all deliveries are processed in a timely manner and with the constant awareness that the quality of the department's services have a direct impact on the institution's ability to provide excellent patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the unloading and loading of all incoming and outgoing delivery trucks at the hospital loading dock.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Facilitates shipping of supplies and equipment designated for return. Ships packages, uses scale and finalizes shipping daily. Responsible for filing shipping records daily.
    • Daily rounding of all patient units, departments and clinical areas to pick up reusable delivery totes and supply carts for regulatory compliance.
    • Responsible for the storage and delivery of oxygen and medical gasses, ensuring regulatory compliance. Daily rounding to remove empty gas cylinders at all self-service Oxygen depots.
    • Maintains the loading dock areas in a neat and orderly manner. Sweeps, empties garbage, disposes of all empty cardboard boxes and places in the appropriate receptacle for pick-up at the end of day.
    • Operates equipment in a safe manner (i.e. power pallet jacks, freight elevator, manual pump jack, lift plates etc.).
    • Delivers bulk, inventory, non-stock and capital equipment to all departments/areas on the main hospital campus and adjacent off-site facilities. Obtains signed delivery documents for every delivery and files them appropriately. Leaving orders in an area that will not obstruct flow of patients, visitors or staff.
    • Prepares inventory and non-stock orders for delivery, sorting, removing corrugated cardboard as necessary and labeling with destination.
    • Ensures all receiving is completed appropriately. Matches packing slip to items received. Enters receiver into the inventory management system and files all packing slips appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Communication skills (both oral and written) and customer service essential. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications especially Word and Excel. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and to lift heavy materials and or move up to 100 pounds regularly.

Preferred Qualifications:
1- 2 years Previous warehouse, materials, or inventory experience. 1 - 2 years Healthcare Supply Chain experience.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $42,075.15 - $46,360.38 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
