You will succeed in this Staff Accountant position if you can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To thrive in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Major responsibilities

• Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

• Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

• In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

• Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks Requirements - Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

• Excellent attention to detail

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards

• ERP system experience

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Recent and relevant accounting experience

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Comprehensive knowledge of Sales Tax

• Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
