Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role primarily revolves around managing grants, supervising the Accounting Associate position, and performing financial management duties within the accounting department. The successful candidate will effectively handle budgeting, reporting, and monitoring financial transactions, while ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the grant management function for various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Supervise the Accounting Associate position, providing guidance and support as needed

• Manage and perform accounting for department operational processes

• Assist in budgeting and reporting activities, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness

• Monitor financial transactions, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures

• Collaborate with program managers or directors to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to achieve financial goals

• Provide support for ongoing compliance and internal controls, ensuring the department's operations align with organizational objectives

• Actively participate in the development and implementation of financial management strategies, contributing to the overall success of the organization. Requirements • Must possess proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is essential

• Must have a solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations

• Experience in performing account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is mandatory

• Must have the ability to prepare and record journal entries

• Experience with month-end close processes is necessary

• Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Must possess a degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus

• Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
