JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description Position Summary: The Sr. Accountant position will report to the Accounting Manager for IPS. This role will involve preparing monthly and quarterly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, management of intercompany balancing, invoicing intercompany billings, and ad hoc projects. This is a position with the ability to learn and gain experience in the business with potential to expand into additional roles and/or responsibilities. Major Responsibilities: Prepare monthly journal entries reviewing the general ledger for accuracy and proper recording of transactions. Reviewer of various inventory responsibilities including standard costing and annual updates, book to perpetuals, Excess & Obsolete Inventory, Lower of Cost or Net Realizable Value, cycle counts, and physical counts. Developer of improvements to current accounting processes to facilitate more efficient and accurate month end close and reconciliation processes. Timely completion of balance sheet reviews. Works with corporate accounting team and local accounting teams to resolve accounting issues. Provide support as needed to Operational Management Team. Performs tasks in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Provides data as requested to internal and external auditors for the corporate accounting group. Develops and implements continuous process improvements in the accounting and compliance processes of Regal. Develops processes and controls to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Corporate accounting standards/policies. Assists Accounting Manager in assessing accounting implications of unusual, one time transactions. Interacts with public auditors to ensure all audit deliverables are met. Assists staff accountant and shared services team members as they need assistance with more complex accounting transactions. Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential. Contributes to team efforts of the global Segment by accomplishing related results as needed. Required Education / Experience / Skills: Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree preferred 5+ years of relevant experience Experience working for a company in the Manufacturing section preferred Experience with Oracle required Experience with Hyperion a plus Travel: IPS segment is a Global Business.
