JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Purpose Under general supervision provide support for department research through projects, maintenance and communication of data, and execution of laboratory experiments. Primary Functions Carry out experimental designs for sponsored research projects and perform routine experiments involving molecular work and cell culture. Isolate small arterioles from placenta and measure vascular reactivity as indicator of microvascular health. Process placental tissue and blood samples. Record and compile accurate records and communicate summaries of experimental results and summaries of tissue collection. Assist with the evaluation, interpretation and assessment of experimental data and quality control of assays. Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data as needed. Effectively communicate experimental protocols and results in meetings with principal investigator and other lab staff. Assist in other daily activities such as routine lab maintenance, buffer preparation, and inventory. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management. Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
