Zablocki VA Medical Center (VAMC) is a tertiary care facility providing advanced medical care to a diverse population of Veterans. Zablocki is affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), and as such integrates teaching, research, and advanced patient care into its tri-fold organizational mission. The facility offers a full spectrum of comprehensive health care services, using state-of-the-art technology and innovative programs to deliver patient-centered care. We are seeking a part-time, 0.75 FTE Gastroenterologist, at the Clement J. Zablocki VAMC. Candidate should also be eligible for an academic appointment with the Medical College of Wisconsin (0.25 FTE) This position will involve clinical work, administrative work, and teaching of interns, residents, and fellows. The candidate should also have a track record on research and an interest in development of gastroenterology program at the Clement J. Zablocki VAMC. The candidate should be proficient in upper and lower endoscopy and all aspects of diagnosis and management of general gastroenterology. Call responsibilities in rotation with Clement J. Zablocki and other faculties of the Medical College of Wisconsin is expected, including covering the Medical College of Wisconsin's other academic hospital, Froedtert Memorial Hospital. Work Schedule: Part Time; Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Designated and/or random drug testing required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 You may be required to serve a probationary period Subject to a background/security investigation Must be proficient in written and spoken English Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process Must pass pre-employment physical examination Qualifications Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements outlined below. Preferred Experience: Three-year U.S. Internal Medicine Residency Program Three-year U.S. Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology Board Certification in Internal Medicine Board Certification/eligibility in Gastroenterology Research interest and track record of publication preferred Must qualify for an Assistant Professor or higher Faculty appointment at MCW VHA and MCW are equal opportunity employers.
