JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Title Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Perioperative Medicine Position Description: The Medical College of Wisconsin\'s Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary and specialty medical care within defined scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician and in accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies and procedures. The APP provides perioperative care on the inpatient medical consultative service, with opportunity to provide care in the perioperative clinic located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. The Ideal Candidate will be an Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine APP with agility, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the values of diversity and equity, wanting to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to providing direct patient care in a blended setting. In this role you will, Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring medical intervention in a blended environment as a member of the Perioperative Services. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Perioperative Services. Participates in quality assurance activities and clinical trials. Core Advanced Practice Responsibilities Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status. Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information Write accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans. Monitor effectiveness of plan of care Educate patients on disease and treatment plans. Perform procedures as trained and appropriately credentialed. Document within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completes other necessary documents. Collaborate and/or consults with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.
