UWM is among the nation’s major research universities and is one of the two centers of doctoral study in the University of Wisconsin system. Job Summary

The Medical Program Assistant works independently to manage the Psychology Clinic in the Clinical Psychology Department at UWM . This position works under general supervision of the Clinic Director, Director of Clinical Training ( DCT ), and Academic Department Manager, and acts as the primary source of information and communication at the clinic; triages clients for therapy and assessment, maintains confidential client records and billing, provides financial information to clients or responsible parties for specified treatment, manages clinic finances and financial records, maintains clinic equipment, property and clinic security.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of computers, including programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Aptitude for learning to use proprietary UWM software applications

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

  • Basic understanding of financial operations

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Ability to interact professionally and sensitively with individuals who may be experiencing emotional difficulties and provide courteous professional customer service

  • Excellent written communication skills and be efficient and skillful in composing clinic correspondence

  • Be a quick learner of systems or prior experience with State of Wisconsin statues and codes pertaining to the provision of psychological services and HIPAA compliance regulations

  • Has the ability to troubleshoot problems associated with videorecording and computer usage (enough to interact to describe problems and interact with experts, not solve the problems oneself)

    Target Salary Range $20.00-$22.00/hour
