ST JOSEPH ACADEMY Maintenance School Bus Driver in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Maintenance Assistant/School Bus Driver is responsible for a variety of custodial, janitorial, security, and landscaping duties in support of the Facilities Services department. The MA assists with preventative and routine maintenance on both the facility and the equipment. The MA provides assistance with snow removal. The MA uses his/her best skill in maintaining a facility that is provides a safe, inviting and clean environment for SJA\'s staff, children and families. The MA works with other department members to coordinate all in-house custodial, janitorial, and landscaping support services. Performs other related duties as needed. Operate school bus and other vehicles for the purpose of transporting students and staff to and from designated locations while providing professional and safe services. Qualifications: Graduate or high school/GED Valid WI CDL driver\'s license and good driving record. Ability in all areas of basic custodial duties and floor care Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems and operations Experience in basic carpentry and painting Ability to read and understand written instructions in service and maintenance manuals Capable of operating and maintaining basic custodial, landscaping, and snow removal equipment Interest and ability to support children Ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutions Ability to work cooperatively with people in and outside of Facilities Service department Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) and effectively interact with children, family members, supervisors, and other staff members Ability to respond positively to work direction and guidance from others Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Essential Job Functions/Duties: Extends excellent service to all children and families Assure each children\'s right to privacy and confidentiality, at all times Establishes appropriate relationships with children\'s which ensures them a safe environment that protects their rights Models behaviors that foster the \"Children First\" philosophy Communicates verbally and in writing all pertinent information to assist in facilities maintenance Provide transportation in accordance with academy policy and procedure as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations. Follow designated routes accurately, in accordance with time schedules and stops. Conduct safe and orderly loading and unloading of students. Maintain order and discipline on the school bus at all times. Perform routine operator maintenance to including but not limited to: pre/post inspections, sweeping interior, wiping upholstery, cleaning windshields, and reporting equipment defects.
