U W-MADISON DIV. CONTINUING STUDIES Healthy Communities Coordinator in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Healthy Communities Coordinator works in coordination and collaboration with local agencies, partners, and community residents to plan, implement, and evaluate policy, systems, and environmental change efforts to support nutrition and healthy food access for individuals and families with limited income. The Healthy Communities Coordinator position will primarily serve Milwaukee County. Initial programming efforts will include conducting community assessments to better understand health and nutrition priorities, supporting healthy food retail efforts in farmers\' markets and brick and mortar retail settings, and working with community health coalitions. About Extension Milwaukee County: UW-Madison\'s Division of Extension serves the people and communities of Wisconsin by addressing local, statewide and national issues. Our Educators deliver education where people live and work in Milwaukee County communities: improving lives through research-based education, fostering partnerships and action, and facilitating positive impacts. Team members work out of our office in West Allis, WI. We are building a culture of shared values with diverse people who are invested in each other and in our work. This role is housed in the Health and Well-being Institute\'s FoodWIse program within UW-Madison\'s Division of Extension. The Health & Well-Being Institute works to catalyze positive change in Wisconsin residents through evidence-based and community-engaged health promotion programs to improve health, build community capacity to identify and address health inequities, engage in collective action, and achieve greater health equity. FoodWIse advances healthy eating habits, active lifestyles, and healthy community environments for individuals and families with limited incomes through nutrition education at the individual, community and systems levels.
