JOB REQUIREMENTS: **Must be local to Milwaukee** SCHEDULE: During semester working around 10 hours per week and Full time over summer break What you will do As an intern in our Global Hardware Platforming department, you will gain hands-on experience in the exciting field of embedded software design. You will be an integral part of a dynamic team working on cutting-edge technologies, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and systems. Your role will involve collaborating with experienced engineers to design, implement, and validate embedded software for a variety of applications. Key Responsibilities: * Assist in the complete software development lifecycle-from requirements gathering and design through coding, testing, and deployment. * Design and implement embedded software solutions using C/C++ in real-time operating systems (RTOS). * Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging efforts to enhance software quality and performance. * Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software components. * Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user guides. * Contribute to the identification and implementation of process improvements and best practices in embedded software development. * Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving to identify root causes of software issues, providing effective solutions. * Stay informed about industry trends and technologies in embedded systems, applying new insights to projects. What we look for: * Pursuing a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. * Fundamental understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and digital/analog electronics. * Proficiency in programming languages such as C, with familiarity in Python being a plus. * Experience or coursework related to real-time operating systems (RTOS) and integrated development environments (IDE). * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating initiative and creativity. * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
