JOB REQUIREMENTS: Director Sales Application Engineering Job ID 2024-8604 # of Openings 1 Type Full-Time State WI City Milwaukee Shift First Overview Leads the Company\'s Sales Application Engineering and Cost Estimating teams to support the sales team and growth objectives. Consults with customers to provide technical engineering support and design for manufacturing (DFM) to reduce cost, increase quality and increase value to customers. Standardizes and continuously improves the company\'s cost estimating processes to ensure timely, accurate and competitive pricing. Responsibilities Oversees and optimizes the cost estimating processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, consistency, and prioritization across all projects. Participates in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to pricing, cost control, and process improvements. Develops and implements standardized procedures, templates, and best practices for quoting, estimating, and application engineering activities. Leads and mentors the team providing technical guidance, training, and professional development opportunities. Collaborates closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless coordination and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. Evaluates and implements technological solutions to streamline quoting, estimating, and application engineering processes. Directs efforts to quote new product types, emerging markets, and innovative manufacturing solutions. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work performance management; department budget. Performs other duties as assigned, which may include leading projects of varying scale or scope. Qualifications Job Skill Requirements Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team. Comprehensive understanding of metal fabrication processes, such as welding, forming, machining, and finishing operations.
