Collins has an opening for a Site Civil Project Manager in our Milwaukee, WI office. The successful candidate will have experience in Project Management, site grading and drainage and utility design. Excellent communication skills are required as you will be interacting with and leading both your team and the projects, as well as client interaction with permitting agencies. This is a great opportunity for the Engineer who would like to get into Project Management.

Summary
The Civil Project Manager I performs higher level assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard and moderate engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Supervisor screens assignments for unusual complexities and selects non-routine techniques and procedures to be applied. Has some responsibility for direction of engineers and drafters.
Position Description
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares and designs plans for site grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and roadways for public and private sector clients. Contributes significantly to projects of all sizes.
Prepares hydrology, earthwork, and roadway plans and profile evaluations.
Assists in collecting due diligence information and preparing concept site engineering plans.
Contributes significantly to the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
Prepares submittals to State, Municipal, and other agencies.
Applies judgment on design decisions and selects from standard engineering techniques and alternatives.
Makes independent decisions within a general framework and work within agreed upon timelines and budgets.
Interacts with other departments and offices in order to coordinate work.
Is active in technical societies.
Works closely with a Senior Project Manager to gain project management experience.
Responsible for moderately difficult engineering projects in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
Works directly with clients.
Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
Monitors project budgets.
Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
Assists in proposal preparation, project scoping, estimating project costs, project planning, and project quality.
Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
Provides direction to Civil Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university, plus appropriate continuing education and a minimum of 4-5 years experience.
Has proficient knowledge of hydrology, AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 1 year
Valid driver's license
