JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsibilities SUMMARY The role of the CAD Administrator II will be responsible for providing Level-1 (L1) IT support for the installation, configuration, upgrade and maintenance of the company Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) environment infrastructure, hardware specifications, tools, and training. They will help to maximize the utilization of all CAD/CAM software used in the development of Engineering and Manufacture Engineering information. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Primarily focus on providing Level-I (L1) technical support to the CAD computing platform; * Provide Level-1 (L1) technical support to the CAD infrastructure environment to include, but not limited to, virtualized platforms such as virtual machines (VM's), OracleVM (KVM), VMWare, Solaris Containers (Zones), Sun-Oracle blade servers, Dell servers, and Lenovo hardware, and guest operating systems. * Serve as Level-1 (L1) support to the CAD computing platform infrastructure. * Provide Level-1 (L1) support for issues related to the CAD computing environments specifically troubleshooting of Solaris, Red Hat Linux and Windows Operating Systems and their interaction with CAD/CAM/CAE applications. * Provide technical support to CAD User Community (internal customers). * Provide user hardware support for CAD workstations, printers, and large format plotters issues * Develop guidelines for systems monitoring to ensure maximum availability, uptime, and performance. * Platform support (monitoring capabilities, performance tuning, capacity planning, and maintaining overall service and platform health). * Responsible for the backup and archive of user and central data * Secondary focus on providing support for CAD software applications * Develop and maintain CAD/CAM/CAE documentation, standards and procedures related * Assist, as necessary, in supporting CAD User training classes scheduled/facilitated by CAD support team. * Assist, as necessary, in supporting CAD User Group meetings scheduled/facilitated by CAD support team. * Serve as a primary contact to respond to customer and supplier CAD requirements * Maintain CAD/CAM/CAE software at the latest compatible release level with integrated ALM/PLM software and with OEM customer compliance requirements.
