Robert Half AR/Cash Application Specialist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an AR/Cash Application Specialist in the pet supply industry, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is based 100% onsite and involves a strong focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks, reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Verify and process incoming cash payments efficiently and accurately.

• Apply cash receipts to customer accounts, resolving any discrepancies or queries related to cash applications.

• Prepare and present reports on the status and activities of accounts receivable.

• Track and address outstanding payment issues.

• Conduct thorough account research and analysis.

• Initiate collections on past-due accounts and interact with customers to address inquiries and resolve issues related to accounts receivable.

• Collaborate with the sales team to rectify any billing discrepancies.

• Perform monthly reconciliation and reporting activities.

• Ensure all transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.

• Engage with internal departments such as Sales, Service, Operations with respect to invoice settlements and payment applications. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as an AR/Cash Application Specialist or similar role.

• Proficient understanding of Accounting Principles is required.

• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.

• Must have knowledge in handling Aged Receivables.

• Experience in Credit - Collections and Credit - Commercial is essential.

• Must have the ability to conduct Credit Investigations and understand Credit Exposure.

• Proficiency in MS Excel is a must.

• Should have experience in preparing Journal Entries.

• Must be familiar with Month End Close and Year End Closings.

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing business requirements.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Must be able to work in a team and also perform individually as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required.

• The candidate must have the legal right to work in the location of the job.
