Carmeuse Americas Carmeuse Systems - Project Manager in MILTON, Ontario

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Project Team Leader on projects and is responsible for executing the project according to Scope, Schedule, Cost and Quality constraints

  • Develops an overall project execution plan, communications plan, procurement plan, risk register, schedules, budgets, etc

  • Coordination of all operational duties associated with project execution inclusive of design, procurement, assembly, shipment and site support

  • Responsible for on-going overall Project Monitoring and Control, including Cost Control, Forecasting, Schedule, Change Management and Reporting

  • Timely and consistent communication with all stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure efficient workflows and mutually beneficial working relationships

  • Generate weekly / monthly and quarterly project-based reports and status updates

  • Take a proactive role in resolving problems and propose solutions based on the client’s reality to improve the service’s efficiency and cost-effectiveness

  • Project Financials - Review project budget (PBU), control project costs and profitability, revenue forecasts and issue / tracking project invoices

  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner

  • Coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising project team and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

  • Working hand in hand with project team to ensure all members understand the project details / deliverables and customer expectations

  • Manages process of project completion, acceptance, and closure

  • Uphold all company policies, procedures and best practices

  • Comply with Carmeuse Systems ISO requirements

  • Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated Safety policies and procedures

  • Any additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Basic requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience in the Mining & Industrial industry

  • Bachelor of Engineering or a technical science (Mechanical, Industrial or Process engineering preferred), (P.Eng registration is an asset)

  • Fluency in spoken and written English

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred; the ability to understand and to make one’s self understood in Spanish

  • Must have integrity, self-awareness, courage, respect, compassion, and resilience.

  • Must be learning agile and flex their influence while communicating the vision, showing gratitude, and collaborating effectively

  • PMP certification is an asset

Knowledge

  • Ability to read engineering documents (such as Process and instrumentation diagrams, mechanical and electrical drawings)

  • Methodical and logical in systematic approach to solving problems

  • Experience executing Projects in a multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic.

  • A Strong commercial understanding of engineering contracts and project management

  • Analytical and detailed oriented; excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to inspire and motivate the team, recognize high performance and encourage creativity and risk-taking

  • Strong knowledge of MS Project and MS Office.

  • Excellent communication skills

Work environment

  • Typical hours: 37.5 hour work weeks – hours vary due to work. Additional hours may be required

  • Travel is required
