One of our clients is looking to hire a senior accountant to support their team for Q1 of next year. In this role, you will play a vital role in our financial operations by ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, assisting in process improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with established internal controls. This position is a 3-4 month long contract opportunity

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain effective accounting processes, policies, and internal controls

• Prepare journal entries and account analysis for specific US general ledger accounts, including prepaid expenses, cloud computing arrangements, restructuring, goodwill, and intangible assets

• Collaborate with accounting transformation team members to identify automation opportunities and build scalable, transformational processes

• Support cross-functional teams with journal entry posting and account analysis

• Prepare monthly reporting schedules for management, providing commentary and noting fluctuation changes from prior periods

• Assist in audit activities with internal and external auditors

• Oversee global account reconciliation process and conduct periodic quality reviews of account reconciliations

• Conduct periodic global accounting team trainings around best practices for reconciliations and other key accounting topics

• Ensure outstanding reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis

• Participate in the month-end close process, including preparation and review of various financial reports.

Requirements

• Compliance is a key part of this role, and the candidate should be familiar with standard regulations and procedures.

• The candidate should have the ability to review and evaluate financial information accurately.

• Proficiency in reconciling accounts and managing discrepancies is necessary.

• Experience in maintaining and updating the general ledger is crucial.

• The candidate should be adept at account reconciliation and balancing financial records.

• Digital skills, including proficiency in relevant software applications, are necessary.

• The candidate must be capable of preparing and presenting financial reports.

• Experience in recording journal entries accurately and timely is required.

• Staffing skills, including the ability to manage and delegate tasks, are necessary.

• The candidate should be able to execute financial tasks efficiently and effectively.

• Knowledge of best practices in accounting and finance is expected.

• The candidate should be experienced in handling month-end close procedures.

• The candidate should have a track record of process improvement in previous roles.

• Knowledge of internal control procedures and implementation is essential.

• The candidate should have experience in collaborating with various departments for financial operations.

• A thorough understanding of US GAAP is required.
