TheHan lab (https://www.hanlab.science/) atCary Institute of Ecosystem Studies (https://www.caryinstitute.org/) invites applications for a full-time data manager and analyst to contribute to a range of innovative projects in infectious disease ecology. We are looking for candidates with diverse experiences and perspectives who can bring strong computational skills, whether through a PhD or equivalent experience in primary research, and a solid foundation in fields such as ecology, evolution, or environmental science.

Collaboration and clear, respectful communication are central to our work, and we highly value team members who foster a positive, supportive environment. While prior experience in disease ecology is not required, a passion for developing and applying quantitative and computational approaches is essential. We welcome candidates with curiosity and motivation to work across disciplines, especially those eager to engage with data from diverse fields like environmental science, climate change science, social science, and ecosystem science. A commitment to continuous learning and adapting new methods from other fields is highly valued.

Ideal candidates will bring strong data science skills, and expertise in areas such as scientific programming, mapping, statistical modeling, or machine learning. We value a variety of strengths, and candidates with unique skills or experiences are encouraged to apply.

This position is primarily based at Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY, though we are open to discussing flexible or remote work arrangements.

This is a full-time, exempt, fully benefited position starting at $60K/year. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

This position will be posted until October 31. Application review will begin on 1 November 2024, with an anticipated start date in January 2025. This position is initially funded for three years, with renewal based on performance and alignment with the lab’s ongoing research needs. Our aim is for this to evolve into a long-term role within the lab.
