Job Description

A fast-growing, innovative company in the Milford, OH area is looking for an Electromagnetic Engineer to join their team. This individual will be joining an exciting team that's revolutionizing the logistics industry through its development of hybrid electric engines. This engineer will support the modeling and measuring of electric motor issues by designing/optimizing electric powertrain, develop test plans, and perform measurements in the lab. Additional responsibilities include:

-Design and system optimization of electric motor

-Perform characterization tests to evaluate the impact of new materials in motor/system performance and efficiency

-Develop MATLAB functions to model motor performance and efficiency

-Perform 2D/3D FEA simulations to derive the electromagnetic behavior of various electromechanical components.

-Develop analytical model to improve the flux linkage and loss calculation for various types of motors

-Optimize the motor design to seamlessly mesh with the powertrain.

-Motor dyno loss characterization and fault characterization

-Explore and design innovative motor topology

-Develop motor control simulation model and support motor control firmware

-Create simulation model for thermal model development and system engineering

Skills and Requirements

-Bachelors in Electrical Engineering/Electromagnetics

-MATLAB/Simulink programming skills

-Strong fundamentals in electromagnetics and electrical machines preferably permanent magnet

• Analyzing using FEA -Modeling losses

-ANSYS Maxwell 2D/Maxwell 3D null
