Summary

The overall purpose of this position will position trailers and pull trailers from offal room. Park trailers in designated parking areas on the yard.

The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the direction of management and, while generally as shown below, there may be changes (increased or decreased) by management as required.

Days of Work: Normally Monday through Friday as scheduled by management and Saturdays and Holidays, if needed by operations and approved by management.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Position trailers and pulling trailer from offal room. Must give and receive information via two way radio

  2. Make periodic checks in offal room and clean screens.

  3. Maintain the cleanliness off offal room and outside area

  4. Park trailers in designated areas on the yard; trailer movement rate must average five trailers per hour for the shift.

  5. Perform daily pre trip inspection on jockey tractor.

  6. Clean and refuel jockey tractor; check fluid levels (oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid)

  7. Take jockey tractor to garage when not functioning properly; fuel all trailers ½ or below 7 refuel fueling truck before shift ends.

  8. Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE and preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent not required but preferred

Experience Requirements

Experience Preferred

6 months experience for one employer in the last three years. CDL license preferred but not required.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  1. Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.

  2. Ascend steps to a platform 8’ high and descend as necessary.

  3. Must be able to work in all 4 season weather environments

  4. Must be able to work in temperatures of 0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit winter to summer.

  5. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

  6. Must wear all required personal protective equipment.

  7. This position spends 100% of a normal work week in production or maintenance related activities.
