Job Description Summary

The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, process improvement, and organizational transformation within the country commercial team. The Operations Manager is responsible for driving efficiency, effectiveness and standardization within the region and functions as a right hand to the General Manager. With that the individual plays an important role in defining and executing strategy. This individual will lead strategic initiatives to streamline operations, optimize workflows, and enhance overall performance to achieve business objectives and drive sustainable growth.

Together with peers from other direct countries and in close collaboration with the Operations Director, the Operations Manager defines and maintains standardized ways of working.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Operational Excellence Leadership:

  • Optimize operational processes and workflows to improve productivity. Standardized ways-of-working are defined and maintained, by aligning with peers from other direct countries and regions. Ensure that the region lives up to the adherence of the set standards.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement across departments and functions, leveraging data-driven insights and analytics.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational performance and drive continuous improvement efforts.

  • Own and/or support key business process by taking a leading and facilitating role ensure that the region lives up to critical KPI’s and commitments, such as forecast accuracy and financial planning. Amongst others, structure and coordinate the Supply & Operational Planning process (S&OP), by collaborating with the Finance and Demand Planning Teams.

  • Ensure commercial connectivity to the regional and global organization & provide in-country data and insights. Be a strong partner in the region’s Leadership Team.

  • Gather and provide market insights and analytics to/from the Pricing team.

  • Align on customer needs with Sales Management and voice the local market dynamics and needs to Regional Marketing and Product Management.

  • Drive process automation and digital transformation initiatives to streamline operations and enhance agility.

  • Coordinate and optimize supply planning with local Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO’s).

  • Stimulate adoption and utilization of (commercial) tools, so that these are used to their potential. Tools in scope are, amongst others, SalesForce.com and Vistex.

  • Work with the (global) Commercial Excellence team on implementation plans of organization wide initiatives, whilst ensuring that the local requirements are embedded.

Change Management and Transformation:

  • Lead change management initiatives to drive organizational transformation and adoption of new processes and technologies.

  • Engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization to communicate the vision for operational excellence and gain buy-in for transformation initiatives.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to cross-functional teams involved in transformation projects.

  • Define, coordinate, and facilitate trainings plans for the country/region organization, both skill and content based (e.g. Sales Academy).

  • Champion consistent deployment of commercial enablement tools and standard work practices.

Continuous Improvement Culture:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, by applying LEAN methodology across the organization, encouraging employees to identify and implement process enhancements.

  • Establish and facilitate forums for sharing best practices, lessons learned, and success stories related to operational excellence.

  • Focus on continuous improvement for the country prioritizing issues to ensure the customer and patients remains at the focus.

Performance Measurement and Reporting:

  • Analyse performance data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders to drive decision-making and action.

  • Liaises with relevant stakeholders to manage situations of stock out, (Allocation, conversion to other SKU’s, etc) (Sign-off by GM).

  • Pricing; in collaboration with the Pricing Team, monitor overall market dynamics, including competitive landscape and NPI opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in operational excellence, process improvement, and transformation leadership roles.

  • Strong understanding of Lean principles, methodologies, and tools.

  • Demonstrated track record of driving significant process improvements and operational efficiencies.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives from inception to completion.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire change at all levels of the organization.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Experience with SalesForce.com, PowerBI and/or Vistex is preferred.

  • Fluent in English language
