Position Description

The Change Management Consultant will play a key role in ensuring that projects (change initiatives) achieve desired results by guiding employee adoption and usage. This person will focus on the people side of change, specifically changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, and organization structures. The primary responsibility will be influencing and consulting on change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. The Change Management Consultant will develop strategies that lead to faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization to increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of results and outcomes.

Supervision

While the Change Management Consultant does not have supervisory responsibility, this person will have to work through many others in the organization to succeed. The Change Management Consultant will act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfill the role of change sponsor. The Change Management Consultant may also provide direct support and coaching to delivery managers, frontline managers, and supervisors as they lead their initiatives or direct reports through transitions. The Change Management Consultant will also support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.

  • Support the implementation of a structured methodology and consult on change management activities

  • Assess the global change impact of current and upcoming projects (change initiatives)

  • Complete change management assessments

  • Assist in creation and direction of change management strategy

  • Identify, analyze, prepare risk mitigation tactics

  • Identify potential areas of resistance

  • Influence the management of anticipated resistance

  • Consult with and coach delivery and project teams

  • Support communication efforts

  • Support training efforts

  • Support and engage senior leaders

  • Consult with frontline managers and supervisors

  • Coordinate change efforts with delivery, culture, sales, and project teams

  • Ensures integration between change management and project management resources and plans

  • Understand and measure success metrics and monitor change progress

  • Track and report on change project saturation, issues, and outcomes

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools

  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships

  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal

  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations

  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
