Robert Half Director of Quality Mgmt in Midland, Texas

Description

The Director of Quality Management will report to the VP Quality Management and will be responsible for implementing a comprehensive quality and patient safety system. The goal is to promote clinical excellence, innovation and patient safety through evidence-based practices.

The Director will play a leading role in quality improvement, patient safety, hospital accreditation, and cultural diversity. They will manage the implementation and monitoring of programs designed to improve the safety and quality of care given to patients.

The Director will ensure compliance with DNV/ISO standards, develop governance structures to ensure policy adherence, and engage clinical leadership in determining performance measures. They will design solutions based on benchmarking, data analysis and corrective actions, and implement strategies to overcome organizational barriers.

Key tasks will include evaluating the effectiveness of the hospital's quality improvement initiatives, developing dashboards and scorecards, and communicating the impact of quality initiatives on federal/state payment/reimbursement programs. The Director will also assess voluntary external standards to advise on their relevance to the hospital's strategic goals.

The Director will conduct a biennial patient safety culture survey, build processes based on survey findings, and use root cause analysis to evaluate patient safety risks. They will also help review medical record documentation for care appropriateness.

The role also involves providing leadership in the implementation of the Quality Management/Patient Safety System, intervening when required to ensure accountability, providing interpretive guidance on federal and state regulations, and establishing a continuous accreditation survey readiness process.

The Director will oversee pre-survey, onsite survey, and post-survey accreditation activities, monitor corrective action plans related to accreditation, maintain an electronic document management system, ensure policy compliance, promote a culture of patient experience excellence, and collaborate with leaders to exceed national benchmarks.

Requirements

A master’s degree in a healthcare field (nursing preferred)

5-10 years of experience in a senior leadership position with a strong foundation in quality and patient safety.

Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Cerner experience is a plus.
