- Support the implementation, and coordination of the clerical and technical duties of the WIC clinic.
- Ensure quality program service delivery using a client centered approach for all MMCAA Agency clients.
- Protect the privacy of customers/families and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of service.
- Provide basic clerical support for all programs in the building; greet clients, notify staff, route calls to appropriate staff, etc.
Specific Duties:

- Answer the telephone, set up WIC appointments and collect precertification information.
- Perform clerical responsibilities of client certification including MI-WIC data input, benefit issuance and complete intake eligibility information.
- Greet customers, secure necessary information, and ensure that they are processed in a timely manner.
- Maintain lobby area as needed.
- Provide blood level checks for lead and iron, height, and weight screening, and input accurate client data in the MI-WIC system.
- Perform weekly lab controls per state regulations.
- Open and close WIC lab daily.
- Track lab inventory and ensure lab is fully stocked.
- Run MIHP report weekly for the county Health Department.
- Process ISD referrals as received from MDHHS.
- Conduct offsite clinics as needed.
- Be supportive to breastfeeding mothers and refer as needed for problem solving/support.
- Make necessary referrals based on client needs.
- Document nutrition education completed by education boards and wichealth.org for secondary education.
- Verify Medicaid eligibility by using the MI Health Plan benefits website as needed.
- Run individual reports for immunization status by use of the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR).
- Database entry using empowOR.
- Assist in lab daily procedures.
- Maintain customer MI-WIC data as required by the agency, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Document client information and run reports as required in the MI-WIC system.
- Accurately completes required program documentation and record keeping in a neat and timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with the WIC team to ensure all areas of service are in compliance and continually improving.
- Recruit families and promote agency programs within the community.
- Update on a regular basis specific position how-to's and timeline.
- Responsible for being a positive, innovative, and supportive team player and promoting a healthy work environment.
- Addresses complaints and resolves problems as they arise.
- Participate in personal and professional development activities, including staff meetings, conferences, training opportunities, as identified and approved by supervisors.
- Attends community events and meetings to support the agency programs, including evening and weekend events/meetings.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and have two years of experience pertinent to responsibilities and duties listed.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Must be familiar with various data collection systems and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively.
