JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Lion Guides are knowledgeable student leaders that empower their peers to identify and utilize advising and support resources that will lead to their personal and academic success. The Lion Guide motto is "Guide by example. Lead to success."

Job Duties

  • Developing and/or facilitating engaging activities for Advising Center programs.

  • Providing logistical support to Advising Center programs.

  • Maintaining office hours in the Advising Center.

  • Engaging in mentoring activity for select Advising Center programs.

  • Maintaining social media accounts.

  • Participating in regular meetings and trainings.

  • Work during common hour and in the evening, as needed.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements and QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

  • Attending Penn State Harrisburg in Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.

  • No negative student conduct records.

  • Strong understanding of your academic plan.

  • Strong understanding of LionPATH, Starfish, Office365 and the Penn State website.

  • Strong time management, organization, and study skills.

  • People-oriented and engaging.

  • Regularly available in the evening and during common hour.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Completed at least 2 semesters at Penn State Harrisburg.

  • Involved in campus organizations and activities.

Benefits:

  • Pay of $15.00/hour - about 50 hours per semester.
