Job Description Summary

 

Mental Health Counselor responsible for aiding the Student Counseling Services staff in managing students referred to counseling services by the Early College Academy, College Credit Plus, and Hamilton Promise programs. The position is responsible for general assessment of student needs, ongoing therapy interventions with students, and community referrals to students and their families. The position works with students between ages 15 and 19, specifically students enrolled in the Early College Academy program on the Hamilton and Middletown Campuses and Freshmen students entering through the Hamilton Promise program on the Hamilton campus.

 

 

Job Description

The position is responsible for general assessment of student needs, ongoing therapy interventions with students, and community referrals to students and their families. The position works with students between ages 15 and 19, specifically students enrolled in the Early College Academy program on the Hamilton and Middletown Campuses and Freshmen students entering through the Hamilton Promise program on the Hamilton campus.

 

The Mental Health Counselor will :

  • Provide clinical services to students, including assessment, ongoing therapy, and community referrals as appropriate
  • Partner with the Early College Academy Program and the Hamilton Promise Program to provide outreach and education to these student groups
  • Manage crisis situations as they arise
  • Utilize the electronic health record to document sessions and ensure that records comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Complete other duties as assigned

     

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field with at least an LSW/LPC; and 1-3 years of experience
