Job Summary
Barrett Paving Materials MWC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Asphalt Screed Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the placement and finishing of asphalt, ensuring high-quality road surfaces are achieved. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain the asphalt screed during paving operations.
Assist in the preparation and cleaning of the job site before and after paving activities.
Work alongside the paving crew to ensure proper alignment and smoothness of the asphalt surface.
Monitor and adjust screed controls to maintain consistent thickness and temperature of asphalt.
Collaborate with operators to resolve any issues that may arise during the paving process.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections of paving equipment.
Adhere to all safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Participate in training sessions and stay updated on industry best practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in road construction, paving, or related fields is a plus.
Ability to operate paving equipment and tools safely and effectively.
Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.).
Knowledge of safety practices in construction environments.
Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team setting.
Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and hours.
