Responsibilities Performs duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the Medical Center in good repair. Performs minor electrical work, mechanical repairs, and other duties relating to maintenance. It is required that staff will report to work on their assigned shift in inclement weather situations or when previously notified that they may be call in to work due to inclement weather. It is required that staff will assist, when necessary, with snow removal using plow trucks, sanders, riding tractor, snow blowers, front end loaders and manual shoveling. Operation of all motor vehicles is to be in compliance with the Garnet Health Vehicle Safety Policy and NYS DOT. The compensation range for the role is $23.84 - $27.10 hourly. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. Qualifications Minimum Education: High school education or equivalent with training in trade or vocational school or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum Experience: Four years related experience in mechanical, maintenance or building trades. Required Certification/Registration: Valid Driver’s License Physical Requirements: Physical demands are representative of those that must be met to perform essential job functions: Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, climb, taste, smell, etc. Specific vision abilities: close and distance, color, peripheral, depth, perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be available to work as needed during emergent situations and inclement weather (day, evening or night shift as necessary). Working Conditions: Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and with explosives. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, risk of electric shock, vibration, radiation. Noise level in workplace is usually moderate Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstanding long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift or move up to 100 lbs. Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
